Jeff’s 2019 Holiday Gift Guide

Jeff’s 2019 Holiday Gift Guide

The Holiday season is in full swing, and if you want to bulk up your Christmas wish list or get some last minute gifts for the fitness enthusiast in your life, here is my 2019 Holiday Fitness Gift Guide. I just hope this list is received better than a Peloton commercial!

Fitness Trackers

Whoop: If you’re looking to quantify your activity level and recoverability, the whoop band is the best on the market. The app and user dashboard are very user friendly, and the data tracking is second to none in the market.

Oura Ring: When it comes to health and fitness, sleep is king. Like the Whoop band, Oura Ring tracks your ability to recover from training. Oura Ring gives you a daily sleep score based on a number of metrics including time in bed, average heart rate, and heart rate variability. Each day the Oura Ring will tell you what type of physical activity is best for your level of recovery. If you’re looking to hack your sleep and take your training to another level, check out the Oura.

Home Gym

TRX: One of the most universal pieces of equipment you can have is a suspension trainer. With this one piece of equipment you can perform 100’s of exercises in the comfort of your own home. Perfect for days you can’t make it to the gym, or a quick extra workout. Your straps will come with a door hinge, making it easy to set up or move.

Bands: Another home gym staple is a set of exercise bands. Perfect for taking with you on a business trip or vacation.

Jump Rope: Everyone needs an old-school jump rope! Jumping rope will make you more athletic, more resilient to injuries in the feet and lower leg, and it’s just FUN!

Kettlebell: If you don’t already have at least one Kettlebell at home, it’s time to get one! Pick a weight that is moderately heavy (something you can goblet squats for 10-15 reps). If it comes in pink, lime green, purple, or from the “fitness aisle” in Walmart or K-Mart (RIP) save your money.

Nutrition

Run Fast, Eat Slow Cookbook: A great resource for delicious and healthy meals with REAL ingredients.

Ninja Professional Blender: A strong blender is a must have in any kitchen, especially if you enjoy making smoothies or protein shakes.

Instapot: Cook healthy meals in a fraction of the time. Instapot is a great tool if you’re busy or don’t like to take the time to meal prep.

Dry Farm Wines: All natural, additive-free, and sugar-free wines that taste great!

Apparel, Accessories, Tech

New Shoes/Gear: Studies have shown that simply getting new sneakers and workout clothes increases the propensity of individuals to exercise. Treat yo self to some new Lulu.

Rock Mat: Suffer from joint pain or chronic low back pain? Spending 5-10 minutes a day walking on a rock mat may reduce your symptoms. The rock like mats stimulate your nerve endings in the bottom of your feet, reducing pain, improving circulation, and increasing energy levels.

NordicTrack Massage Gun: New to the market of Massage guns, at just $99 NordicTrack has the least expensive product available. Massage guns typically range from $299-$699. Some reviews are in and the NordicTrack Massage Gun seems to be holding up well vs. its more expensive counterparts.

If you have any questions on any of the items listed above, I’d be more than happy to help.
